For the last 18 years I have grown and developed as a French and Humanities Teacher, Middle school Vice Principal, Coordinator of teaching and learning innovations and currently as a Head of Secondary. I am passionate about learning and teaching, curriculum development, and transformational leadership. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Teaching French as a Foreign Language from Université de Stendhal, Grenoble, France, and a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics from Université Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand, France. I have taught in a number of programs including IB PYP, MYP, IB DP, IGCSE, and IMYC. I am an American citizen with roots and origin in the beautiful country of thousand hills, Rwanda, and grew up in Uganda and the DRC.
I have lived, worked, or attended training in Uganda, France, USA, Rwanda, DRC, Italy, UK, Canada, Martinique, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Ethiopia, UAE, Egypt, and Sudan. I enjoy walking, hiking, reading, spending time with my family, and gardening.

I am originally from San Diego, California. I have been a Primary School Principal for 10 years, previously in Rwanda as well as in the United States, where I was also a PYP Coordinator, before joining KICS in August 2018. I taught in various international schools in Uganda and California. I hold a M.A. in Education and a teaching credential with an emphasis on cross-cultural language acquisition. I believe in equipping children to be creative, self-motivated, life-long learners who are prepared to be citizens of a global world. Originally from England, I have a BA Jt Hons in Physics and Geology from Keele University, UK, a PGCE from Warwick University and a Masters degree in technology-enhanced learning (MEd TEL) from Stirling University, Scotland. I began teaching in the UK in 1985 following a spell as a weather forecaster with the UK Meteorological Office. I was born and educated in the UK, gaining BSc (Jt Hons) in Biology and Education, plus a PGCE in Biology and General Science from the University of Keele. I started teaching in Coventry, UK in a large inner city comprehensive school in 1984, where I remained for 9 years, got married and had three children. In 1993, our family started its international journey in Geneva, Switzerland. We then moved on to Aleppo, Syria and then to Muscat, Oman. In 2000, we headed off to Jakarta, Indonesia, remaining there for 15 years, allowing our children to graduate from JIS and successfully complete the IB Diploma. I have been teaching IB Biology since
1995, I am an assistant examiner, senior moderator for Internal Assessment and IB workshop leader. In Jakarta, in addition to my teaching responsibilities, I was Head of Science and Varsity Swim Team coach. My most recent post before joining KICS in August 2017 was as Head of Science in Frankfurt. All my career I was purely an Accounts and Finance personnel only until I joined an IB School as Business Manager in 2008 having to wear multiple hats. I have spent 22 years in the Middle East with one year in Dubai, 8 years in Muscat (Oman) and 13 years in Sohar (Oman). Originally from Sudan, I have extensive experience in Accounting and Finance. For 8 years I have worked in various International Companies both abroad and in Sudan, filling general Financial management positions. Subsequently, taking a position at KICS, joining the educational field in 2005. I received my BSc in Accounting from University of Juba and Bachelor of Laws from El Nielien University. Since the beginning of my career at KICS, I have risen steadily up the career ladder in different roles including Bursar, Finance Manager, and Business Manager. A product of British primary schooling (Clergy House School, Khartoum) and Catholic school education (Sister’s School, Khartoum), I received a B.Sc. Honour’s degree from the University of Khartoum in Botany and went on to gain a Master’s in Public Administration from George Mason University, USA. Recently, I completed an Associates's CIPD degree. I have worked at the offices of the UNV and UNDP in Khartoum and in Litton PRC, and Accenture in Virginia ( US ) as well as several other smaller companies in temporary placements while living in the US. All my work experience has been in administration, and mainly in HR departments, which led me to this position as the HR and Support Services Manager at KICS since April 2006.
