Unit Community “A shared sense of belonging occurs when people when people are able to negotiate and appreciate their complex and often messy differences”

Our unit community “A shared sense of belonging occurs when people when people are able to negotiate and appreciate their complex and often messy differences” can be related to our daily subjects. In Physical Education we got to play a sport game (soft ball) in a random group for a long period (same group for 5-7 weeks) and we tried to play the game and win by figuring out and then solving our messy differences. For science we are learning about different type of circuits and learning the skill to create them, all different type of circuits are one community and most of them have messy differences, for example in series circuit the electron flow in the whole circuit stops when one bulb is shuts down, however, in a parallel circuit when one bulb shuts down all the rest of the bulbs work perfectly. For English it’s different from the other subjects, we read the novel “I know Why the Caged Bird sings” by Maya Angelou and we got to know about Maya’s community, the messy differences between people and the challenges she faced throughout her life.
