CAS Project of Y12 Students Shaza and Yousif

In addition to creating a portfolio of CAS activities, IB Diploma students must undertake a CAS project of at least one month’s duration that challenges students to show initiative, demonstrate perseverance, and develop skills such as collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making. The completion of CAS is both an IB Diploma and KICS Graduation Requirement. Shaza and Yousif started an ECA for primary students as their CAS project.

Yousif writes “The ECOKICS ECA aims at educating young peoples about the environment and the major human induced complications threatening the biosphere and all its inhabitants. As part of a project for the ECA, we collected and shredded used paper, then stuffed them inside used plastic bottles. We then painted the bottles blue, yellow and green, the colours of KICS. These bottles will be used to construct a big plant pot where we will grow a mini forest contains a wide array of interesting plant species!”
