My name is Andrew Lisle and for the past decade I have been working in the British state sector, most recently as Head of Faculty for Social Sciences in one the highest achieving schools in the country. At KICS I will be teaching Psychology and Geography and like to let the students lead their own exploration of the subjects by facilitating engaging lesson cycles which are student led and focused on holistic understandings of the subjects. I work to one simple principle that I want my students to see the world, understand it and know they have the power to change it.

I have been part of and involved with KICS since the very beginning when plans to build an IB school were still on the drawing board. I have been in Sudan since 1984 when the Netherlands Foreign Service posted me at its Embassy here. I met my Italian/Greek husband in Khartoum. We have 2 wonderful boys – young men now! – who grew up in Khartoum and graduated from KICS with the IB Diploma in their pockets. In fact, my older son was in the very first cohort to graduate. The first years of the KICS story were very exciting and they both look back with many fond memories to their time at KICS. I have seen it grow from a construction site to a beautiful campus with many facilities and am proud to be part of its history. I love the school and my work here. As Office Manager of the Secondary Section, I have a very busy job. There is never a dull moment for sure! Outside of school I run exercise classes, offering Yogalates and Step classes.

My name is Daisy Mwangi. I boast a strong positive attitude and an optimistic outlook on life. I love my job and get a great sense of achievement from seeing my students develop and thrive as individuals. As a qualified international educator with a PGCEi (Post Graduate Certificate Education - International) from the University of Nottingham (UK), and a Bachelor’s of Science degree (B.Sc.) Applied Business Computing from the University of Sunderland (UK), I have over seven years’ experience in hands-on inquiry based conceptual learning in IB MYP Digital Design, IB DP ITGS and Business Management, IGCSE Business Studies, Computer Science and (ICT) Information Communication and Technology. I have a PGCE from university of Southern Queensland, Australia and I am currently working on my Master of Education degree from university of Bath, UK. Hi, I'm Erin! I was born and raised in Colorado, USA. I have a degree in Fine Arts and K12 Art Education from Colorado State University. After college, I spent some time learning Spanish and teaching English in Guatemala and Peru. I then taught high school art for 8 years in the Denver metro area and after taking a couple years off to start our family, I am very excited to get back to the art classroom. I personally love mixed media, printmaking, painting, ceramics and photography. Professionally, I have also illustrated a children's book as well as had my own photography business. When not in the art room or with my family, I love building relationships, traveling, gardening, hiking and volunteering. This is my first international teaching assignment and my husband, young daughter and I are so excited to join the KICS community!

My name is Paul Healy and I was raised in South Africa. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa and then worked in the corporate world in England, USA, Ireland and Australia. Leaving the corporate world behind me, I gained my PGCE from University of Nottingham, England. In my most recent school, I was the sole MYP design teacher in an IB World School. I love nothing more than working with my hands and getting stuck into projects. I bring with me my passion, knowledge and skills to the KICS Design team. I enjoy traveling and immersing myself in different cultures, sights, food and sounds. My passion is surfing but equally I love being on my mountain bike or running outdoors. I will be joining KICS with my wife, Michelle.

My name is Ogendo Daniel Oganga. Born and raised in Kenya, I left in 2004 for studies and I have been living and working abroad ever since. My permanent address is Kigali, Rwanda. I hold a Bachelor of Arts with Education degree in English Language and Literature. I have also had some professional development courses from Harvard University provided by EdX. I plan to pursue an MA in Educational Management and Leadership. I have worked in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Egypt and Norway mainly in IB and IGCSE schools and at a publishing house. My journey in education spans a broad spectrum of teaching experience at various levels in secondary schools, colleges, universities and language centres. I am an examiner for IB Diploma Language A: Language and Literature and Cambridge Assessment International Education, First Language English. I am also an experienced public speaker and preacher as well as a debater, trainer and adjudicator in World School Debate Format. I aspire to create an environment where learners are both safe and excited to truly achieve their full potential. I very much look forward to continuing my international teaching journey here in Sudan – a country that is renowned for its incredible hospitality. I am joining KICS with my family: wife and young son. Outside of education, I enjoy meeting and making new friends, doing some basic martial arts, running the marathon, listening to music, watching news, detective movies, documentaries, reading, and speaking to motivate. My life has been a series of random events and teaching itself was one of those fortuitous conversations with a friend that has now led me to this particular place in my life: A classroom. A situation which is rather ironic as I was an 'Outstanding' student and had a 'Special' chair in the Principal's office when I was a student myself. My experience outside academia has played a significant role in my teaching as it has helped bring different perspectives in the classroom. I love traveling and experiencing new foods, cultures and people. I am hoping to see more of Africa during my time in Khartoum and learn as much as I can. As an educator, all I am hoping is that I am able to help my students build a sense of curiosity about themselves and the world. To be able to help develop personal and situational awareness and create learning spaces for students to Educate, Agitate and Organise.

I am from a small town in Michigan, but have had the chance to call many places home including Panama, Florida, Senegal, New Mexico, and Egypt. I have taught in both primary and secondary, and hold a M.A in Education, a M.Ed in International Education Administration, as well as teaching and administration certifications. I am dedicated to creating spaces where children feel safe and supported so that they can be truly excited about learning. My hobbies include running, reading, spending time in nature, and enjoying time with my family.

I am Sudanese and born in Atbara. I received my B.Sc. at the University of Khartoum, Faculty of Education and Masters degree at The Philipp University of Marburg, Germany. I've taught for 12 years in Sudanese public schools and one year as a lecturer at Omdurman Science and Technology University teaching Mathematics. Prior to KICS I taught at Unity High School. I have two sons, Mahmoud and Ahmed. I enjoy reading, taking walks and swimming.

After completing my Civil Engineering degree at Queen’s University, I earned my Bachelor’s of Education from Lakehead University. During my academic career, my passion for teaching blossomed and the desire to travel was evident. The two blended nicely together as I embarked on the adventure of teaching internationally. After completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in the Philippines, I worked at two international schools in Shanghai as a school nurse and then as the school nursing coordinator. During those 6 years, I worked closely with teachers in the secondary school and was involved with several projects and school initiatives. Due to the nature of school nursing, my passion for teaching grew over the years and I decided to pursue teaching science at the secondary level. I earned my teaching certification and a Master’s of Education degree and now I’m excited to join the KICS community as an MYP science teacher. Together with my husband Denes and our younger son Mark we are glad to be back at KICS.

I was born and educated in the UK, gaining BSc (Jt Hons) in Biology and Education, plus a PGCE in Biology and General Science from the University of Keele. I started teaching in Coventry, UK in a large inner city comprehensive school in 1984, where I remained for 9 years, got married and had three children. In 1993, our family started its international journey in Geneva, Switzerland. We then moved on to Aleppo, Syria and then to Muscat, Oman. In 2000, we headed off to Jakarta, Indonesia, remaining there for 15 years, allowing our children to graduate from JIS and successfully complete the IB Diploma. I have been teaching IB Biology since 1995, I am an assistant examiner, senior moderator for Internal Assessment and IB workshop leader. In Jakarta, in addition to my teaching responsibilities, I was Head of Science and Varsity Swim Team coach. My most recent post before joining KICS in August 2017 was as Head of Science in Frankfurt. I enjoy walking, swimming and cooking.

Nearly two decades ago, right after graduating with a BA in Mathematics and English Language and Literature in Hungary, I found myself on a plane headed for New York City, where I started my teaching career in secondary mathematics. After teaching in the Big Apple for 3 years, I headed to a warmer climate: first to the Philippines (2 years) and then to China (11 years) to teach MYP and DP mathematics. During those years, I became a DP mathematics examiner, earned my M.Ed., gained leadership experience in various positions. After leaving China, we came to Khartoum for 2 years (2019-2021) and had our older son graduate from KICS. Then, after spending a year in Côte d'Ivoire, we have returned to this wonderful community to once again be part of the KICS journey. My wife Roshiley, our younger son Mark, and I are all excited to re-join the KICS family.

I was born and raised in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Then we moved to Sudan where I finished my high school. I started teaching immediately after high school where I taught for 2 years. Then I went to Malaysia where I completed my BSc (Hons) in robotics and mechatronic engineering from the University of Nottingham Malaysia campus. I was also the president of the Sudanese society in university with the goals of sharing Sudanese culture with the world. After I graduated I taught IGCSE Math and Physics for 4 years in different schools in Khartoum. In my free time I enjoy playing soccer and working out. I'm very excited to be part of KICS, I am sure that this will be a great learning and teaching experience.

My name is Natalie Radziejewski. I was born and raised in the United States in Chicago. I have a B.A. in Mathematics, Teaching Mathematics and History. I taught in Colombia South America and in Australia. I have a passion for teaching and my goal is to have all my students walk away with a deeper understanding and a stronger appreciation of math. I am originally from Canada having worked in non-profit organizations focused on teens and children for 15 years. Having obtained two undergraduate degrees: religious education and civil aviation, I returned to school to obtain a master’s degree in education. This permitted me to switch careers to become an educator. I spent 4 years in South Korea teaching religious studies and Humanities and then 7 years in Indonesia teaching DP Business Management and Economics before coming to Sudan. At present, I am the Head of Department for Individual and Societies teaching IB DP Economics and MYP Individuals and Societies at KICS as well as an IB Economics examiner. For hobbies, I am passionate about cycling, as well as aviation, enjoy golfing, as well as reading books on economics and organizational theory.

My Name is Niru and I am excited to be teaching History, Humanities and ToK at KICS. My 15 years of cumulative experience is far and wide, which includes working in the corporate world, political science think tanks, and international schools. I have taught students at both the elementary and high school levels and I love teaching. Since my experience is well-rounded, I try to provide my students with a practical approach to learning which can be associated and used in everyday life. I am married with two kids and I love traveling. I have visited fifty countries and lived in six of them, including Brazil, Egypt, India, Singapore, the UK, and the US. Some of the things I like about traveling are meeting new people, learning about their cultures and history, and integrating what I learn to day-to-day life.

Hi there! I am from Singapore, but I have travelled around and lived in different parts of the world to feel like a global citizen. I have over 20 years of corporate experience and have graduated from the Wharton School of Business, which has taught me that the learning process requires a crawl, walk and run approach, which in-turn will make students effective leaders in their own right. I plan to share my experience and knowledge through DP Business, Humanities and ODE (Outdoor Education) and build strong foundations in the students that will last them a lifetime. I have written two children’s picture books and I love playing Basketball. I also enjoy playing board games, traveling and taking care of my family, which leaves me little time to garden. It is always a pleasure teaching young minds and I am always excited to be with the students.

My name is Sabrin Mandil, I am Spanish-Sudanese, born and raised in Madrid. I have a BA in Journalism & Mass Communication from the American University in Cairo and teacher certification (PGCEi) from the University of Nottingham. In 2011, I moved to Sudan from Spain and joined KICS. Currently I teach IB Spanish and ToK in the Secondary Section. I am married with three children who are also part of the welcoming and supportive KICS community. My upbringing in France, within a multicultural family, led me later to numerous travels around the globe, where I lived unforeseen adventures, had “aha” moments (“woohoo” ones too!), and also unexpected encounters. Ed is one of them. Ah, beloved Ed (short for Education, as I am sure you would have understood). I suffer from the “can’t lie” syndrome, so let me be completely transparent with you: After seeing the kind of student I was, I had vowed to never become a teacher (what an ordeal it would be!). Moreover, for me, Ed was just this old fashioned guy, very set in his ways, not ready to compromise. But then, I fell head over heels. How on Earth?! Well, even though sometimes he can be this grumpy old man, I realised he can also be a very open minded, innovative and compassionate person who strives to create a better future. This, I loved, and I wanted in! That’s when I realised teaching would be a fantastic choice after all, and decided to do my Master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language and Education (in France), followed by a PGDE (in Scotland). Best decision I ever made. It took me places I would have never thought of (Scotland, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil...) and allowed me to improve both personally and professionally by discovering a diverse range of curricula (British, French, American, Mexican, International Baccalaureate) and so many wonderful people (students and their families, colleagues, friends…) who helped me grow immensely. Ed and I are very close but I would say that our relationship is balanced and healthy. Whatever the position I hold in a school (French or English teacher, Gifted and Talented Coordinator or Head of Department) I generally manage to find time to dance, climb, learn, read, travel, discover some more. The beauty of it is, it actually enriches my relationship with him; all I learn becomes a skill I can transfer to my teaching, with my students. And guess what! Ed and I decided to take the next step in our lives and move to Khartoum, within the KICS Community who has been so incredibly welcoming. From what we have heard and seen, we will love it and I certainly hope you will enjoy our presence too. Looking forward to sharing experiences with you all.

My name is Victoria Zafirova and I'm from Sofia,Bulgaria. I was a professional volleyball player for 11 years, member of the National team of Bulgaria. I hold a Bachelor Degree of Physical Education and a qualified volleyball coach with 13 years of teaching experience. I live in Sudan with my husband and our three kids. In my free time I enjoy going to yoga class, playing tennis and other sports. I joined KICS in January 2019. Looking forward to an active school year.

I completed my Ph.D., Masters, and Bachelors degrees in Physical and Health Education from the University of Mumbai, India. I have been a PHE teacher for the past 10 years and have taught a variety of curriculums and a range of age groups. I love teaching, have a passion for service, and enjoy coaching. As a mother of a beautiful daughter, I understand the importance of a positive school experience and always strive to provide a fun, active, safe, and knowledgeable learning experience for my students. I was born and raised in Canada where I developed a passion for sports and coaching. I hold a Master's degree in Physical Education and have gained valuable teaching experience in a few different countries over the past decade. I moved to Sudan and joined KICS in 2019 with my wife and son. Since then, our family has grown to five and we all truly love the school and community here. I spend my free time keeping fit and playing different sports with a particular love for the beautiful game of golf. My name is William and I am from Senegal. I will be joining KICS with nearly a decade of teaching experience between Senegal and Egypt. I have previously taught English as an additional language through French, and PE in both primary and secondary schools. I believe that students learn best when they make connections between what they learn in school and what they experience in their day to day lives. When I am not teaching, I enjoy playing sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball...) listening to music and enjoying time with family and friends.

I have over 20 years teaching experience, internationally and in the UK, in both the IB and Waldorf curriculum. I consider myself to be an active, creative and caring person. I am multicultural by nature, I speak 6 languages and I have lived in four continents. I have several academic qualifications (BA Hons, MA, PGCE, Waldorf Teacher Certificate, Early Years certificate, Celta Cambridge Certificate). My educational motto is that the students are at the centre of the learning/teaching model and that we as teachers orbit around them and their needs and strengths. In so doing, we allow the students to access the curriculum, where they establish meaningful personal connections. I believe that all students have gifts to be nurtured and every student can thrive. As an educator, I consider that the student’s wellbeing is at the crux of all that we do. My name is Agila and I’m Sudanese. I graduated from the American University in Cairo with a BSc in Chemistry. I was living between London and Ireland for more than ten years before moving back to Sudan. I have four children, two of whom graduated from KICS and the other two are still part of this great learning community. I completed my PGCEi in 2018 and it has always been my passion to learn more on how to accommodate children with special needs. I have an MA from the University of Nottingham in Special and Inclusive Education. This allowed me to gain new insights about a wide range of topics. I’m hoping to continue developing a deeper understanding of strategies to support all of our students' needs which can be applied at a structural level within our school.

I have been a teacher librarian for over twenty-five years in Kenya, Gabon and more recently, China. I believe reading directly impacts students’ performance, and I am constantly striving to develop a love for reading among the students that I teach, as well as the rest of the school community. I have been working at KICS since October 2005. I am Egyptian and my husband is half Sudanese, half German. Both my children, Sharif and Tamara have been at KICS as members of the crèche and then from Little KICS onwards. I have held different positions at KICS over the years, including Library Assistant, CAS Coordinator, IB Business Management teacher, DP Homeroom teacher, Head of IB, and College Counsellor. I am currently the Head of Counselling and High School and College Counsellor. I love KICS and our community and it has become a second home to me and my kids. I am passionate about Model United Nations and student leadership, and am the KICSMUN Director. I enjoy exercising, tennis, reading, traveling and learning new things.

I studied at Clergy House and Unity High School many years ago until I went to study in the UK. I received a BSc Econ from Queen Mary College and an MSc in Political Sociology from LSE. This summer I am taking a College Board course on College Counselling at NYU. I have also guided my 6 children through university applications, have closely monitored KICS college application processes over the past years and am really looking forward to working alongside Mrs Reem in guiding future KICS graduates to access their best-fit colleges and universities around the world.

My name is Sabrina Cherif and I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden by a Swedish mother and a Tunisian father. I hold Bachelor's Degrees in Education and in Study and Career Guidance from Stockholm University. I have been working as a Counselor since 2012 and have always been involved with different preventative projects within wellbeing. I am very passionate about working together with my students to help them understand themselves and each other better. I can’t wait to meet my new students and to be part of the KICS counseling team! Before moving to Khartoum I lived in Toronto Canada with my Canadian husband from Sudanese origins. We are looking forward to building a new circle of good friends and to be part of a fun and positive community. We are very outdoorsy and enjoy going out and spending time in nature. We also like to exercise and workout everyday doing yoga, dancing and spending time at the gym.
